Speedtest is a free application from Microsoft that will rate your Internet connection speed for Windows. Speedtest verifies that the connection speed you are experiencing is as fast as possible. It's free to download and use. If you want to know how good your Internet connection is you can visit Speedtest and find out. I've tested it on my XP machine and it was able to detect my Internet speed in the UK, Ireland, and Canada.
